One of the challenges I’ve had since the accident is finding cute shoes that are comfortable. I have several pairs of fierce heels, notably the “Carrie Something Blue” Manolo Blahniks (as pictured) that my wonderful husband bought as a wedding present (and I wore them on our wedding day), but those shoes along with all the hot pairs sit in their boxes for now. However, I’ve found that Forever 21 and JustFab put out comfortable and affordable shoes. Graceland is a brand that I’ve come to collect while living in Germany, and one of my favorite pairs I’ve bought is these Union Jack flats. They work great with leggings and dresses!
As a curvy gal, I’m always on the lookout for styles that fit and flatter. For the longest time, it seemed as if anyone over a size 12 was out of luck when it came to finding beautiful, trendy clothes. Luckily, in the last few years, more designers are emerging with fantastic lines, including: Ashley Stewart, Marina Rinaldi, and Eden Miller, who was the first designer to show at NY Fashion Week this past fall! However, since I LOVE clothes and we (hubby and I) like saving money, some of my favorite affordable styles come from Forever 21 Plus and Charlotte Russe. Every fall, I still have that “back to school” shopping itch and I fell in love with the Peplum Dress that Forever 21 puts out. I’m modeling the blue one with gray Charlotte Russe leggings.
One wonderful piece of good news is that IMG Models is branching out and representing more diverse models, including “true” plus size models. Not to knock the lovely tall size 12 ladies that are considered plus size in the modeling world, but let’s face it, most of us think of “plus size” to mean extra curve. The 5’10 size 12 ladies just look normal (which is great!), but we shorter gals with an extra curve like seeing models who represent US a bit more! So, congrats to IMG for paving the way for all of us!
